Sensor Tower has compiled data on the top virtual fitness applications on the iOS platform in Australia for the first quarter of 2021, revealing interesting trends in user engagement and app popularity.
Fitbit: Health & Fitness saw a consistent revenue trend, starting at around $28K in the last week of December and peaking at $37K towards the end of March. Downloads showed a gradual decline from approximately 13K to 4K, while weekly active users fluctuated slightly but ended the quarter with a minor decrease from 69K to 67K.
Strava: Run, Bike, Hike also experienced a revenue peak in February at roughly $34K, with a general decline to about $24K by the end of March. Downloads dipped from 6K to just under 4K, and weekly active users saw a high of 158K in January, dropping to 140K by the quarter's end.
Garmin Connect™ had no reported revenue but maintained a strong base of weekly active users, starting with 481K and experiencing a slight drop to 440K. Downloads decreased from 9K to around 3K over the quarter.
PhysiApp, with no revenue to report, saw an initial increase in downloads from 1K to 3K in early January, followed by a decrease to 2.5K by March. Weekly active users presented a growth trend, climbing from 13K to a peak of 17K before falling to 16K.
